| School of Agriculture and Biotechnology - Admission Requirements |
- All applicants for the undergraduate degree programmes must satisfy the minimum entrance requirements stipulated in the common University entrance regulations as specified by Joint Admissions Board (JAB).
- Applicants with a mean grade of C+ and have fulfilled the following subject clusters are eligible for admission as Privately Sponsored Students (PSSP):

| Any group 4 subject C+

- Holders of a recognized Diploma from a government institution are eligible for admission to different programmes, as follows: Higher National Diploma, (3rd year), Distinction and Credit diploma (2nd year), Pass Diploma (1st year).
- Students can also transfer from different programmes within the department on meeting the stipulated requirements.
- The common regulations for eligibility for registration in M.Phil. degrees of Moi University shall apply.
- In addition to the University requirements, applicants for the M.Phil. Programmes should have at least a B.Sc. 2nd Class Honours (Upper Division) or its equivalent in agriculture, or other related disciplines, from recognized universities.
- Holders of B.Sc. Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree of Moi University, or of a recognized university, who in addition to this have relevant post-graduate diploma or research experience as evidenced by at least one published paper in a refereed journal, or one published paper in a workshop proceeding per year; or three years relevant experience will be considered for admission.
- Prospective candidates may be required to appear for an interview in order to establish their suitability for the programmes.
- The common regulations for the D.Phil. degree of Moi University shall apply.
- In addition to the Moi University requirements, applicants for the D.Phil. programme shall be holders of a Masters degree in the respective programmes or its equivalent or closely related disciplines from universities or institutions recognized by Moi University Senate.
- Applicants will also be required to submit a research concept on their proposed topics.
