African Journal of Business & Economics (AJOBE) is a publication of the School of Business & Economics, Moi University. Since it's inauguration in January 2006, the Journal has become a useful avenue for academicians and practitioners in various fields of Business and Economics to disseminate their state-of-art research findings and share cutting-edge information with colleagues and policy-makers in Africa and beyond.

Papers that are published in AJOBE cover broader areas of Business, including Finance and Accounts, Banking, Marketing, Tourism, Hospitality services, Travel and Tours, Entrepreneurship, Economics, Human Resource Management, Agricultural Resource Management, Information Technology and Actuarial Science. The Journal is peer reviewed and publishes papers that deemed to have theoretical and practical value in the stipulated areas.

CALL FOR PAPERS - SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS

The Editorial Board of African Journal of Business & Economics, wishes to call for papers to be published in the next issue. AJOBE’s vision is to become the leading Journal on the current business and economics academic discourse, and dissemination of state-of-art research findings. Towards this end, the Journal will publish high quality peer reviewed papers which meet international standards. The Journal publishes scientific papers from the following areas:

  1. Business of tourism and its role in economics and policy development.
  2. Marketing theory, strategy and practice in business firms.
  3. Financial and investment issues in business management.
  4. Innovation, development and. entrepreneurship.
  5. Strategic human resource management and development in business enterprises.
  6. Economic policy, development and its application in business.
  7. The role of agribusiness in economic development.
  8. Gender issues in economic development.
  9. Strategic management and leadership in the global economy.

NOTICE TO CONTRIBUTORS

  1. Title should be brief (one line at most), and should begin with a word useful in indexing for information retrieval (not Effect or New). After the title, authors’ names, institutional affiliation, telephone/fax number and e-mail address should be mentioned, (corresponding author should be indicated if different from author). An abstract not exceeding 250 words and additional 3 to 5 keywords (i.e. keywords not mentioned in the title) may be provided on the second line following the abstract.
  2. Papers must conform to the usage of the Journal in all aspects. Papers should not exceed 12 pages in print. Font 11, single-spaced. The submitted full papers should contain the following: title, names of authors and affiliation, abstract, introduction, main body, text, conclusion, recommendation and reference, Footnotes should not be used.
  3. A paper already published or under consideration for publication elsewhere (wholly or substantially) cannot be accepted.
  4. Manuscripts should be in British English.
  5. Headings can be used up to a maximum of two levels. Only essential tables, diagrams and illustrations will be published.
  6. Tables and figures with their caption should be submitted separately from the text (on a separate page/at the end of the file), but caption must be included in the text at the appropriate place. They must be numbered in Arabic numbers according to the sequence of the text, i.e. table 1, table 2… avoid large tables: book size will be 15x21cm, use the tabulator (TAB) only.
  7. Tables should be clear without reading the text. Column heading should be brief and clear. Vertical lines should not be used to separate columns. Any necessary explanation essential for understanding the table should be given as a footnote at the bottom of the table.
  8. Diagrams produced by graphical computer rogrammes are only acceptable if their quality matches that of homemade diagrams.
  9. Formulae should be numbered in Arabic numbers serially at the right-hand side in parentheses. They should be type written. Give the meaning of all symbols immediately after the equation in which they are first used.
  10. All reference cited in the text must be listed at the end of the manuscript. In the text, refer to the authors name (without initials) and the year of publication. The Harvard style of referencing is recommended.

DEADLINES FOR SUBMISSION
The deadline for submission of completed papers is 31st December of every year. The editorial board reserves the right to reject or accept contributions by authors and will communicate the decision to the respective author(s).
