ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

To be admitted to the degree programme of Bachelor of Technology in the School of Engineering the candidate must satisfy the minimum entrance requirements stipulated in the common university entrance regulations. In addition, candidates must obtain at least the minimum cut-off points for the year at the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) as determined from one of the following four-subject clusters:

Alternative A Alternative B
Mathematics Mathematics
Physics Physical Sciences
Chemistry Biological Sciences
Either Biology or Geography or
any Group V (i.e technical subjects)
Either Geography or any
Group V (i.e technical subjects)

The above clusters may change from year to year.
Those holding qualifications equivalent to the above from institutions recognised by Moi University Senate may also be admitted.

  1. Holders of a degree of Moi University or any other recognised university in areas such as Engineering, Information Sciences, Science, Education Technology/Science and Business.
  2. Holders of qualifications considered by the Senate to be equivalent to a university degree.
  3. In exceptional cases, Senate may admit to the PGD programme, holders of a Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent qualification, who has at least two years working experience.

Certificate Programmess

Candidates should have at least KCSE certificate or its equivalent.

Diploma Programmes

Alternative A
The student should have attained a minimum mean grade of C and C- (minus) in mathematics and physics in KCSE or equivalent.

Alternative B
The student should have attained a Credit in the Certificate in Computer Applications and Maintenance offered Moi University.

Alternative C
Any other equivalent qualifications approved by Moi University senate.
