BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN FORESTRY ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
(a) Direct Entrants From Schools.
(i) Candidates must meet the minimum university general admission criteria. (ii) Candidates must have passed the K.C.S.E with an average grade of B- in the two subject groupings:
Alternative A Alternative B Mathematics Mathematics Biology Biological Science Chemistry Physical Science Physics Geography Geography
(b) Diploma Holders
(i) Candidates must have passed K.S.C.E or equivalent with a minimum grade of C in the subject groupings listed in (b) above and (ii) Must have successfully completed a relevant diploma course recognised by the university and must have attained a first class grade or a credit with at least 2 years of field or research experience. (iii) Diploma holders who meet the admission requirements will join B.Sc. forestry course in 2nd year.
(c) Candidates with equivalent qualifications may also be considered.
DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME
The undergraduate programme runs for four academic years. In addition to the normal semesters, there are teaching and field-practical camps at selected forest stations. These camps are at the ends of the 1st and 3rd academic years of study, and will involve the teaching of practical courses.
