DIPLOMA IN TOURISM AND WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT

 

Admission requirements

 

For admission to the diploma course, the candidate should have completed a one year certificate course in a relevant field from a recognised institution.

 

Programme  Duration

 

The course will cover a duration of three years. Students who successfully complete the first year will be awarded a Certificate in Tour Guiding and Administration (CTG) from the Langata Training Centre. Thereafter, they will proceed to the second year of study to undertake various courses in tourism and wildlife management studies. The third year will mainly be devoted to industrial attachment and the writing of a dissertation , upon the successful completion of which they will earn a Diploma in Tourism and Wildlife Studies (TWS) of Moi University.

 

In the last three months of the first year, students will undertake an Industrial Attachment at an appropriate institution. In the second year of study, the will course gradually build both on theoretical knowledge and practical skills in tourism and wildlife management, wildlife biology, ecology, tourism and professional techniques in tour guiding and administration. This will prepare the students to join Moi University for further studies later.
