MASTER OF PHILOSOPHY IN PHILOSOPHY

The Masters of Philosophy in Philosophy Programme is a deeper Intellectual venture into the core concepts and values that have characterized the seemingly endless human search of knowledge and truth.

The study is offered by coursework, examination and thesis.

Objectives

The objectives of the programme are:

  1. To enable the students acquire an adequate understanding of philosophy in order to provide manpower needs in academic and non-academic fields for the development of the nation.
  2. To expose the students to various philosophical traditions with a view to promoting independent thought and tolerance in their approach to life.
Admission Requirements

Rules and regulations governing admission to MPhil programmes of Moi University shall apply. In addition to the general requirements, the candidate must have at least second class honours degree in Philosophy of Moi University or its equivalent.
Duration of the Programme

The programme shall last four semesters or two years of full-time study or a minimum of six semesters part-time.
