| MASTER OF PHILOSOPHY IN SOCIOLOGY |
The Department of Sociology offers a postgraduate programme leading to the award of Master of Philosophy degree in Sociology. The programme is intended to produce specialists in the field of Sociology. The graduates of the programme are expected teach in colleges and universities and be able to carry out research, extension, and consultancy services for national development.
The common regulations for admission to the Master's degree of Moi University shall apply. However, the candidates must have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology or related discipline with at least a Second Class from Moi University or a recognized university or institution of higher learning.
| Course Structure ansd Duration of the Programme |
The M.Phil. programme in Sociology consists of coursework, examination and thesis and shall normally extend over a period of two years ( four semesters) of full-time attendance and a minimum period of 4 years(eight semesters) of part-time attendance.
The common regulations governing Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) degree programmes at Moi University shall apply.
