In collaboration with the refugee studies centre University of Oxford, UK, The Ford Foundation, the British Council, the Hugh Pilkington Trust, the United States Agency for International Development, USAID, The Commonwealth human rights initiative, the United Nations High Commission and others, the CRS has successfully trained four of its staff at D.Phil. level. This has been an important contribution to capacity building. While the training of core academic staff has been modest staff development remains an important priority, especially in such areas as conflict resolution, peace and security studies.
