The Information and Communication Technology Centre (ICT Centre) is a technical service unit which performs a collection of relevant tasks, functions and skills necessary for the management of ICT in the University.
The overall responsibilities of ICT Centre are that of coordination of ICT functionality within the functional departments of Moi University. Other responsibilities are:
- Advises on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) implementation.
- Interprets MU Information Policy Plan (IPP) and Information Technology Master Plan (ICTMP) and derive functions out of it.
- Operations and Maintenance of MUNet Data communication Infrastructure and intranet web site
- MIS project end-user training and support.
- Business Application Systems Development and software maintenance.
- Helpdesk services and End-user computing support (office automation, information
systems, hardware and general ICT).
- Database design and development.
- Overall management of information resource.
- Database design, development, administration, management and maintenance.
- Web design, development and maintenance.
- Information Systems, Internet and E-Mail (mu.ac.ke) Servers maintenance.
- Information and Communication Technology consultancy.
- MIS project end-user training and support.
- PC and common accessory minor repairs.
- Systems (Hardware and Software) installation, maintenance, Configuration and upgrading.
