There are various sporting activities regularly organized by the sports department in conjunction with the MUSO sports director. These include friendly matches with other colleges and campuses among others. The main campus sporting facilities include a football pitch, a rugby pitch, two hockey pitches, a netball and a volleyball court, a handball pitch, two tennis courts and an indoor basketball court. There are also table tennis and badminton equipment which can be used by the students. Moreover, students can play darts due to the facilities offered in the various recreation (TV) halls in the students' halls of residence. There are chess and scrabble clubs which organizes tournaments at the university level and also enters national championships. These above mentioned facilities are also available at the other campuses and at Maseno University College too. However, the Town Campus lacks football and hockey pitches but shares the facilities of Chepkoilel campus.
Other recreation activities include the cultural week, an annual multi-faceted festival stretching for three days.
The MUSO entertainment directorate also organizes dances using its own sound equipment or hiring outside services. In Chepkoilel campus, monthly campus nights are organized at the Eldoret town nightclubs. There is a video projector at the main campus and one of the lecture halls is normally converted into a cinema theatre on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
For martial arts ethusiasts, there are fully established Karate and Tae Kwon do clubs in all the campuses. These carry out regular grading under authority from the Kenya Tae Kwondo and Karate associations.
