ORGANISATION

The conference will consist of five symposia organized by four schools and a cross - cutting themes as follows:

SYMPOSIUM I: SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

Main Theme: Investing In Education for Resource Utilization for Sustainable Growth and Development in the 21st Century

Sub-Themes:

  1. Paradigm shift in educational technology for effective resource utilization
  2. Technical and/or Vocational education for resource utilization and development
  3. Curriculum development for resource utilization
  4. Rethinking education for liberation and self-reliance
  5. Educational administration and leadership challenges in the 21st Century.
  6. Globalization in education and resource utilization in the 21st century

SYMPOSIUM II: SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES

Main Theme: Innovation for Sustainable utilization and Management of Environmental Resources

Sub-Themes:

  1. Effective utilization and management of environmental Information,
  2. Innovations for mitigating disasters and alleviation of Poverty,
  3. Healthy environment through sustainable utilization of biological resources,
  4. Conflict resolution in planning and management of natural resource,
  5. Community participation and indigenous knowledge in environmental conservation and development.

SYMPOSIUM V: CROSS-CUTTING THEMES

Main Theme: Managing conflicts through appropriate resource utilization.

Sub-Themes:

  1. The use of indigenous knowledge in the prevention and management of conflict situations among the local communities.
  2. Viable and sustainable management of natural resources for local communities.
  3. Impact of economic and political power on the utilization of resources among communities in Kenya.
  4. Knowledge management for organizational efficient and effective utilization of resources.
  5. Democratic allocation and distribution of public resources in Kenya.
  6. Role of gender in resource allocation and utilization.
  7. Resource utilization for prevention and management of environmental conflicts.
  8. Challenges of HIV/AIDS in resource allocation and utilization
