The INTERACT-Africa Project is excited to announce the Call for Applications for Traineeship Mobility Scholarships for the academic year 2024/2025. This program offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral students a unique opportunity to gain international work placement experience in their field of study, within Africa.

 

About the INTERACT-Africa Project

Mobility in Innovative Green Technologies for Climate Change Mitigation and Sustainable Bioeconomy (INTERACT-Africa) is an Intra-Africa Academic Mobility project funded by the European Union (EU). It involves five African partner institutions and one EU technical partner. The project aims to:

  • Promote inclusive learning mobility in green Chemistry, Biology, and Information Technology.
  • Foster entrepreneurship and support green technology startups across Africa.
  • Facilitate internships and practical learning opportunities to enhance employability and promote sustainable development.

 

Traineeship Mobility Overview

Students will complete a 3-month internship/traineeship in a public or private organization (business, lab, institute) within the INTERACT-Africa consortium countries. The traineeship must complement the student’s academic program.

General office tasks or enrollment in another university course do not qualify as traineeship activities.

The mobility must begin from 1st August 2025 and must last 90 days (inclusive of travel). Extensions are not possible.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be nationals and residents of an African country.
  • Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral program during the 2024/2025 academic year at an African university within the INTERACT-Africa consortium.
  • Have approval from their department/program coordinator for the proposed traineeship institution and topic.
  • Not be on academic suspension or have frozen enrollment during the traineeship period.
  • Ensure the traineeship is completed before graduation, if graduating in 2024/2025.
