Competence Network Mathematical Epidemiology for Sub-saharan Africa (CoNeMesSA) project is a project funded by DAAD under the DAAD-SDG Programme and is hosted by a consortium of five (5) universities: Technical University of Munich (Germany), Moi University, MU, (Kenya), Masinde Muliro University of Science & Technology, MMUST, (Kenya), University of Lagos, UNILAG, (Nigeria) and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST, (Ghana).
CoNeMesSA is a project that combines existing competencies in mathematical and statistical sciences to create synergy in teaching, mentoring, and research between the four sub-Saharan universities. The project presents a unique chance and an opportunity that should be optimally harnessed for collective development. Collaboration and synergy between sub-Saharan African universities in the field of mathematical epidemiology have significant benefits for both education and research to improve the competence of health authorities and promote new generations of interdisciplinary mathematicians and statisticians.
The project is offering four (4) PhD fellowships, one (1) per each Sub-Sahara African partner. The scholarships are tenable for the programmes offered by partner institutions as follows Moi University (PhD in Biostatistics), Masinde Muliro University of Science & Technology (PhD in Applied Science & Technology (PhD in Statistics). Applicants are required to apply for the scholarships through contact persons of the partner institutions. Successful candidates will begin their full-time studies in the 2024/2025 academic year, from September 2024.
