· Introduction
The construction industry has been identified as one of the key drivers of the big four agenda in Kenya. Meanwhile, the quality of output from the construction industry is largely subject to the deployed competencies and resources. The competences of contractors are further dependent on how well they continue to learn and update their knowledge and skills. In this connection the National Construction Authority (NCA) has put in place a Continuous Professional development (CPD) framework through which contractors can upgrade their skills besides accumulating credit points towards renewal of their practicing licenses. Towards this end, Moi University in collaboration with NCA has developed CPD course topics that are designed to enable contractors to upgrade the relevant skill sets, competencies and knowledge in both technical and non-technical fields. The CPD training will also extend the participants understanding of the emerging practices in the construction industry. The CPD course topics include:
- The Big Four Agenda in Construction: Opportunities for Contractors
