Moi University participates in Afrorehab Project to strengthen Rehabilitation Workforce in East Africa

Moi University is actively engaged in the AfroRehab Project, an EU-funded initiative aimed at strengthening the rehabilitation workforce in Kenya, Tanzania, and beyond. Hosted under the School of Medicine’s Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation, the project focuses on building capacity in four partner Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and developing a digital rehabilitation education and research ecosystem.
Led by Dr. Naomi Wanjiru, Dr. Nancy Amaya, and Dr. Sharon Kiplagat, the project is centered on blended master’s programs, integrating digital and in-person learning. These programs aim to address the shortage of qualified rehabilitation professionals, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, prosthetists and orthotists, speech-language therapists, audiologists, and optometrists. The initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 on good health and well-being.
