The Africa Center of Excellence in Phytochemicals, Textile and Renewable Energy (ACEII PTRE) at Moi University, made a notable contribution at the 19th Technical and Advisory Meeting for Eastern and Southern Africa Centers of Excellence (ACEII), held from June 11–12, 2025, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Maputo, Mozambique.
Representing the Center, Sir Prof. Ambrose Kiprop, Center Leader, was a featured discussant on June 11, 2025, where he discussed valuable insights on strategies for ensuring the sustainability of Centers of Excellence across the region. His presentation showcased the PTRE Center’s exceptional success in mobilizing over USD 4 million in external funding, reaffirming its standing as a regional hub for research excellence, innovation and capacity building.
Moi University’s presence at the event was represented by Prof. Khaemba Ongeti, Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academics, Research, and Extension, who participated in a high-level panel discussion on June 12, 2025, reflecting on the national and regional accreditation of academic programmes. His remarks underscored Moi University’s dedication to quality assurance, academic integrity, and cross-border higher education collaboration.
