The County Government of Bungoma, on the 1st October 2025, signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with various partners supporting the Department of Health. These partners include Moi University, Dumisha Afya, Sight Savers, Lifestraw, Jacaranda Health, Maristops, Centre for Public Health and Development, Health Rights Kenya, and Rotary.
As part of the ceremony, Moi University signed an addendum to its existing MOU with Bungoma County to further strengthen research-to-policy implementation under the SCINOP (Science to Policy) Project. This initiative, led by Moi University through AMPATH and funded by the World Health Organization (WHO) via the Alliance, is one of only four projects in East Africa working to bridge the gap between science and policy to improve health outcomes.
