The Vice-Chancellor launches ‘Huduma Namba’ Initiative at Moi University

IMG 20190404 WA0036Moi University Vice-Chancellor on Wednesday 3 April, 2019 launched the roll-out of National Integrated Management Systems (NIIMS) dubbed ‘Huduma Namba’ at Moi University, Main Campus.

The ‘Huduma Namba’ initiative is an ambitious plan by the Government of Kenya to ensure that all citizens above the age of six years have their details captured in digital database through integrated data systems.

Speaking during the launch, the Vice-Chancellor appealed to all staff and students to take part in the registration process so as to be identified through a unique Primary identifier to enable the government have a comprehensive database on each person which will help it plan and distribute social services and resources equally to all citizens.

During the launch, the Vice-Chancellor was accompanied by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs), Prof. Nathan Ogechi; the Registrar (Administration, Planning and Development), Dr. Peter Rutto and the Area Chief, Sally Birgen.
