Launch of the Eldoret Innovation Action Plan (17th Nov 2021 at EKA Hotel, Eldoret)

The event was officiated by H.E.  Hon. Daniel Chemnor Deputy Governor, Uasin Gishu County and H.E. Josephine Gauld the Deputy British High Commissioner to Kenya.

 

The Eldoret Innovation Action Plan Launch is hosted by Eldohub and KTN, as part of KTN’s Global Alliance Africa six-year programme funded by UK Aid through the FCDO and Innovate UK via the Global Challenges Research Fund.

 

The Eldoret Innovation Action Plan has been co-created by key stakeholders in Eldoret and KTN under KTN’s Global Alliance Africa Place-Based Innovation activities, which are mandated to deliver a shared innovation vision for Eldoret that is stakeholder-driven and specific to local contexts.

 

The Innovation Action Plan recognizes that harnessing the innovative potential of Eldoret is critical to creating a sustainable and connected ecosystem to deliver more meaningful opportunities for jobs and growth. The Plan sets out principles and a framework to achieve this. Present from Moi University during the Launch were Dr. Peter Rutto representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Masibo Lumala (Chairman of the Eldoret Innovation Hub Advisory Committee).

 

Prof. Charles Lagat (Chairholder for UNESCO Chair on Enterprise Management & Sustainability) and Prof. Eunice Kamara.

 

Other stakeholders represented during the event were; KNCCI, Safaricom, University of Eldoret, County Government of Uasin Gishu, RVTTI,  Eldoret National Polytechnic among others
