ENACTUS is a worldwide organization that connects students with academic and business leaders through entrepreneurial-based projects that empower people to transform opportunities into products and services that are sustainable. At the national level, all universities present their projects which are judged by professionals in the industry based on innovativeness, impact and scalability. This year, the projects were subjected to evaluation at two levels- first, a virtual competition was conducted from 22th to 22nd July, 2022 and three teams qualified for the finals, thereafter a physical presentation was conducted at Sarova Panafric Hotel, Nairobi on 23rd July, 2022. Moi Annex Campus emerged victorious having presented an innovative project that involves use of agricultural waste (e.g. coffee, rice, and coconut husks) to prepare charcoal as a way of addressing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 7- affordable energy and SDG13-climate action. The project is dubbed 'Pika Smart' which aims to provide clean and affordable cooking briquettes and at the same time offer proper agricultural waste disposal. The Team is set to represent Kenya at the Enactus World Cup to be held in Puerto Rico from 30th October to 2nd November, 2022 in order to share this innovative project at the international level.
