Moi University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Isaac. S. Kosgey attended a conference dubbed ‘Innovative Leadership for Institutional Transformation’ under the auspices of Centre for Innovative Leadership and Governance (CLIG) in collaboration with the institute for International Business at the University of Iowa, USA.
The five day University Leaders Training Program focused on entrepreneurship and innovation, industrial parks and incubation centers, servant leadership, contracts and negotiations, resource mobilization through grants, gifts and endowments, internationalization, networking, collaborations and partnerships, managing growth, organizational leadership and change.
The training sought to equip the University leaders with effective leadership skills owing to the fact that higher education is a dynamic field that requires competitive positioning and innovative approaches to leadership and governance.
On his return, the Vice-Chancellor came with a bag full of goodies after securing linkages for the School of Law, School of Public Health and Institute of Open & Distance Learning. He also indicated that plans were afoot to incept the Advancement and Career Office to help in student engagement and leadership.
