Message from the Dean of Students
It is indeed my pleasure to welcome you to Moi University and specifically the Dean of Students Office. By attending Moi University, you have chosen to join a diverse, highly international and immensely passionate community of students, members of the academic staff, administrative staff and support staff. Our alumni who are discharging various duties in all sectors of the economy in Kenya and beyond have a common believe of hard work and that is exactly what we inculcate in this university. It is always my desire to share with you relevant information that is helpful to you in guiding you until you complete your studies within the stipulated period.
Please note that students in this university are unique in the sense that the level of personal responsibility is highly required. I invite you to read the Students Guide Book that also contains the Rules and Regulations Governing the Conduct of Students at the university. Adherence to these rules will make you stay comfortable while in campus. Also, instill in you the culture of working well with your colleagues and most importantly manage your finances. Always prioritize spending money on basic needs and paying fees. You will discover shortly that this office has created ways of financing your studies if you are a needy student.
This office has registered many clubs and societies that will give students a platform of exercising their leadership skills. It is my advice that students choose to be members of a few clubs so that they don’t comprising their academic responsibilities. This office has also created various Sections to offer other services that students may need. These Sections are explained in detail hereunder.
This office is always committed to helping you navigate through Moi University in a manner that will expose you to all that the university offers. My challenge to you is that; consider different perspectives and try new experiences as you progress towards your eventual graduation.
Finally, I wish to bring to your attention that our goal as a department is to promote your individual growth, facilitate constructive engagement and encourage the development of life skills that will help you to succeed well beyond your time in campus. I once again welcome you.
AG. DEAN OF STUDENTS
